The March Roundup

The good, the bad and the ones that caused arguments in March...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The best new film we saw this month:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Watchmen

9/10

A fan boys dream. True to the comics in tone, cast and look. And the soundtrack is brilliant! Snyder's done it again.

Agree? There’s been a lot of debate about this one!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The best 3 films we saw this month:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Goodfellas

10/10

Brutal, bloody brilliance. Never has a greater ensemble of characters graced the screen. Scorsese at his show stopping best.

Airplane

8/10

How many gags can they fit into 88 minutes! Puns galore and it's a laugh a minute. 'Shirley' you have to love this film!

The Damned United

7/10

A sports film that's full of passion, laughs and goosebumps. Sheen and Spall's friendship is a joy to watch.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The worst 3 films we saw this month:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gran Torino

4/10

Clint is hilarious but can’t save a weak story with terrible acting. Full of laughable moments that aren’t deliberate.

The Number 23

2/10

A real shocker. So bad it’s occasionally funny. Everything = 23.Everything = absolute drivel. Jim-what were you thinking?

Derailed

3/10

A lumbering thriller with obvious twist, zero tension & nonsensical plot. Even Cassel's great villainous turn can't save it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And the one that we couldn't agree on...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Donnie Darko

6/10

Abstract. Tries too hard and ends up being complex and alienating. It is fairly enjoyable nonetheless.

...Really?!
